BACKGROUND
To position itself as a true leader in the field of research and consulting and to promote contact with the private sector, public sector and broader community, the University of Pretoria (UP) has established a structure for campus enterprises in 2000. This structure is known as Business Enterprises at the University of Pretoria (Pty) Ltd or BE at UP for short. The University has 100% shareholding in BE at UP.
BE at UP is the facilitator between the business world and the vast pool of multidisciplinary brainpower and resources at the University. It aims to create an environment for entrepreneurship which includes the commercialisation and marketing of viable products and services.
